We’ve reserved plenty of rooms at San Diego hotels located in close proximity to the convention center. The headquarter hotel for the Union is the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina. The Women of Reform Judaism convention will be held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel. Shuttle bus service from all designated hotels will be provided throughout the convention, however the reserved hotels are in easy walking distance of the convention center. Once your registration fee has been paid in full, you’ll be able to reserve a hotel room. Please note that as of this time the Union's housing agency is no longer able to assist in securing hotel rooms and the special Union hotel room rental rates are no longer available for new reservations. At this time you will need to contact one of the many hotels located near the convention center directly to make your reservations.

We are thrilled that San Diego, California’s second largest city will be our home for the 2007 Biennial Convention. That’s where blue skies, 70 miles of beaches, and a gentle Mediterranean climate await. Bordered by Mexico, the Pacific Ocean, the Anza-Borrego Desert and the Laguna Mountains, San Diego County offers varied options for your free moments during the Convention. Or, perhaps you will be tempted to come early and stay late to soak up the sun, sea, and local culture. If so, our headquarter hotels will extend our preferential group rates for the duration of your visit. From the airport, it's just a ten-minute taxi ride to the San Diego Convention Center, located right on the harbor in downtown San Diego. Known for its natural beauty, San Diego is also one of the nation's most vibrant cities and the convention center is at the heart of all the action. The beautiful bayside building is just a short stroll from an exciting array of sidewalk cafes, specialty shops, art galleries and clubs in the historic Gaslamp District. Also nearby are gorgeous waterfront parks, some of Southern California’s finest restaurants, the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum and PETCO Park, home of the San Diego Padres.

The San Diego Convention Center is a very large place and there will be distances to walk between events.
In order to make this easier for participants who have difficulty walking the Union has made arrangements for mobility scooter rental through two companies, Scootaround and Mobility Source. If you make arrangements to rent a scooter from either company it will be delivered to the Convention Center for easy pick up. Please note that we do not endorse either company, but we hope that this option will make your participation in Biennial comfortable and convenient. You may arrange your rental online or by phone by contacting Mobility Source (619) 234-9505 or Scootaround (888-441-7575).
